Privacy Policy

FontHex ("we", "us") runs fonthex.com, a free set of text generators. This page explains what information is involved when you use the site, in plain language.

What information do we collect?

We do not ask you to sign up, and we do not ask for your name, email or payment details to use the tools. The text you type is turned into glitch text inside your own browser. It is not sent to our server and we do not save it.

Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically receives basic technical data when you load a page, such as your IP address, browser type, device type and the page you requested. This is used to deliver the site and keep it secure.

What about Share?

Share creates a web address that contains your text and settings. Anyone you send that link to can read the text in it. When the link is opened, the address, including your text, is sent to our hosting provider to load the page. Do not put private information in a share link.

Report and contact forms

When you send a report, the details you enter, your device and browser, and your email address if you add one are delivered to our inbox through Web3Forms, a form delivery service. We use them only to answer you and fix problems.

Do we use analytics?

We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to count visits and see which pages and features people use. It collects data such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser, and sets cookies to tell visits apart. The text you type and the text inside share links are removed from the page address before analytics loads, so they are never sent to Google. Learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Do we use cookies?

The tools themselves work without cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies as described above. We may show ads from Google AdSense, and Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can manage or block cookies in your browser settings. Some features of third-party services may not work if you do.

Advertising

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our site and other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. Learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Embedded videos

Our video guide is hosted on YouTube. The YouTube player only loads after you press play, and it uses YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. Once it loads, YouTube's own privacy policy applies.

Do we share your information?

We do not sell, trade or rent personal information. Technical data may be processed by the service providers that run the site, such as our hosting provider and, if ads are shown, Google. We may also share information when the law requires it.

Third-party links

The site may link to other websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, including the European Union, the United Kingdom and California, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its use. Because we do not keep accounts or save your text, we usually hold no personal data about you. To make a request, email us at the address below.

Children's privacy

FontHex is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
