FontHex FAQ

Glitch text is normal text with extra Unicode marks stacked on each letter, so it looks broken, corrupted or distorted. It is also called corrupted text or weird text.

No. It is regular text plus Unicode combining marks, so there is nothing to download or install. That is why it can be pasted into other apps.

Type your words in the Your Text box, pick an intensity and where the marks go, then press Copy.

Mild adds a light flicker, Glitch is clearly glitched but readable, Corrupted is heavy and messy, and Cursed is full zalgo chaos.

It rolls a new pattern of marks with the same settings. Press it until the shape looks right.

Every mark is a separate character. A short word with heavy marks can count as dozens of characters.

Usually not. Most platforms limit usernames and handles to a set of allowed characters, and stacked marks are rarely on that list. Use your display name or bio instead.

Yes, in your name, bio, captions and comments. It does not work in your username.

Yes, in your display name, server nicknames, About Me and messages. Discord usernames only accept plain letters, numbers, periods and underscores.

In posts, comments and Messenger, yes. Facebook does not allow symbols or unusual characters in profile names.

Each app and font draws the marks its own way. The characters are the same; only how they are shown changes.

Paste it into the Your Text box and press Clean text. Then press Copy clean, or Undo to go back.

Once text is heavily glitched, there is no reliable way to tell a real accent from an added mark. Clean text is built for English. Text you made on FontHex in the same visit is restored exactly.

Styles like Currency Glitch and Upside Down swap in different characters instead of adding marks, so Clean text leaves them as they are.

Zalgo text is text buried under stacks of Unicode marks that spill above and below the line. The name comes from a 2004 internet horror meme that ended with the line "He comes."

Whisper adds a faint crawl, Haunted is clearly possessed, He Comes is full chaos, Rising sends marks upward only and Dripping hangs them below the letters.

They choose where the marks grow. Turn one off to stop marks on that side. If none is picked, all three are used.

It caps how tall the marks get, so zalgo does not cover the lines above and below in chats and bios.

Paste it into the box on the zalgo page and press Unzalgo. Press Undo to bring the zalgo back.

Very heavy zalgo has caused lag in some older messaging apps. Use Whisper or Height Guard in chats and save He Comes for posts.

Cursed text swaps your letters for lookalike symbols from other alphabets, flips them upside down or adds creepy marks, so the words look ancient, possessed or broken.

24, sorted into four moods: Ancient, Creepy, Glitchy and Flipped. Tap a mood to see only those styles.

It adds 0 to 10 layers of marks on top of the 13 styles built from Latin letters. The other 11 use letters from other alphabets, so they stay as they are and show a "no extra marks" tag.

The style uses characters some older phones and game fonts cannot show, so they may appear as boxes. Paste into a draft first.

Yes. Paste it into the cursed text translator on the cursed page. It reads runes, demon letters, upside-down and mirrored text and removes the marks.

Partly. Chat and signs show many styles, but rare symbols and stacked marks can turn into boxes. Upside Down and Witch Hex work best.

Creepy text is normal text styled to look haunted, bloody or broken, with dripping marks, crossed-out letters, gothic letters or runes. It is real Unicode text, so you can copy and paste it.

20, including Bleeding, Crawling, Redacted, Stutter, Echo, Gothic and Possessed. All of them update as you type.

Small emoji frames you can put around any style: Candles, Web, Blood, Ghost, Pumpkin or Eyes. Pick None to remove them.

Choose a level from 0 to 10. Level 0 keeps each base style; higher levels add distortion to supported styles. Gothic and Old Runes stay as they are and show a "no extra marks" tag.

It drops a ready-made creepy line into the text box, like "Do not turn around", so you can start styling right away.

Redacted replaces some letters with blocks on purpose, to look like a censored file. Those letters cannot be recovered from the result.

Yes. Every tool is free, with no sign-up and no limit on how often you use it.

No. You can type as much as you like. Each mark also counts as a character in the apps where you paste it, and very long text can lag older phones.

Yes. Every tool runs in your browser on iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac, with nothing to install.

No. Your text is made in your browser and FontHex does not save it. The one exception is Share, which puts your text in the link itself.

Anyone you send it to. The link contains your text, so do not use it for anything private.

The app or its font cannot draw some characters. Try a lighter setting, or a style without the rare symbols tag.

Some chats and comment sections strip special characters. Use a lighter style or apply it to a single word.

Some browsers block the clipboard in private mode or embedded windows. Select the result and copy it manually.
